Chapter Twelve

They were in Adam’s apartment again, after work and classes. Adam had done the inviting this time. After dinner, they settled on the couch, and Adam pulled up an app to help them decide on a movie. They laughed at the suggestions for “independent lgbt drama” crossed with “action comedy.” Eventually they picked something which fit neither category and reclined against each other.

AJ mostly ignored the movie, toying with Adam’s hair and hovering somewhere between relaxed and pleasantly turned on. He thought about the last time they’d been together and what he was doing there now. It was as though Sunday had broken the barrier between them, and they were both letting down their guard. Adam hadn’t pressured him in any way, showing incredible trust by offering his body for AJ to explore. Not only had it surprised him, it excited him.

He pushed on Adam’s shoulder a little, causing him to tip his head to look up at AJ. Adam grinned, and AJ suddenly wanted to lick the wicked expression off his face.

“I want you,” he said, low.

“I’m all yours,” Adam replied.

Adam sat up and turned off the movie, dropping the remote onto the floor. AJ adjusted their position so he was half on top of him. He leaned in to kiss Adam, controlling the pressure to leave Adam wanting more. When Adam put a hand on the back of AJ’s neck, AJ descended again. He kept up the same pattern, each kiss longer and deeper than the last until Adam was panting. AJ straddled his leg and moved slowly against his hip, pressing against Adam’s hard length with his thigh while he devoured his mouth.

There was something so satisfying about seeing Adam writhing beneath him, hungry and needy. AJ’s blood ran hot, and his heart thundered with his own urge to finish what they’d started. He sat back, waiting for Adam’s move.

Adam took a couple of breaths and gazed up at AJ. “Did you want to continue this in bed?” His expression remained open, indicating it was a question not an assumption.

“Yes.”

AJ climbed off and held out his hand to Adam to pull him to his feet. Anticipation drove them to rush down the short hallway to Adam’s bedroom. He shoved open the door and tugged AJ inside. They cast their clothes off, and Adam snagged a towel from the closet. He threw it to AJ, who spread it out on the bed, and then he rummaged in a drawer until he came up with some lube and a handful of condoms. He pitched most of them onto the floor, but he held up two different ones.

For a moment, Adam seemed to hesitate before he said, “Would you like to fuck me?”

The question caught AJ a little off-guard for being so direct, but it also sent a thrill right through him. It had been so long, and he was ready. “Yeah, I would.”

Adam grinned with dark humor as he held up a condom in each hand. “Lime green or glow-in-the-dark?”

“Oh, fuck the glow condoms.
